3D/4D ultrasound images can be obtained at any stage. However, we recommend a gestational age of 28-32 weeks for the best facial detail. At this stage, the baby's face has more fat and also enough fluid to get great images. For gender determination and full body images, the optimal time is between 18-22 weeks gestation. During this period parents find it exciting to see movements that mom can't even feel.
